This 12-week plan is geared towards the more serious 5km runner. Many of the sessions and techniques in this plan are modified versions of training I completed when preparing for 4 Olympic Games in the 5km event. The plan will target correct running technique while building a strong fitness base throughout the first 6-weeks of the plan. Once you have a solid foundation and are fit to train the program becomes more specific to the nature of fast 5km road running. A combination of aerobic/anaerobic and speed workouts will have you ready to race a fast pace for the fun run!

This 6-week plan will transition the walker to the runner! The aim of this program is to introduce you to the basic principles of running and aerobic training to enable you to build a substantial base of fitness and ability to run. This program also includes run technique exercises, running related wellbeing insights and race specific tips to run your 5km Carman’s run event.

This 6-week plan is ideal for someone who already has a reasonable foundation of fitness and experience in running looking to push their pace in the fun run. This plan is a dynamic combination of run specific technique work, which will include threshold and anaerobic sessions to ensure you are ready to lace up, hold a steady pace and run a solid 5km road race!
