Louise

My sister-in-law, Leanne, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2015 and it really had an emotional impact on me. She was facing the daunting journey of surgery, chemotherapy & radiation.

I started to research what I could do as a member of the community, and as a member of the family, to show my love and encouragement, and also raise vital money to support women going through this journey. The support offered to women by Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), I felt was so inspirational for Leanne and also for me.

I had never completed a fun run before so I turned to a couple of my close friends, Sara and Dee, who I knew would be great cheerleaders in helping me run, and also help me achieve my fundraising goals. We set out to raise $500 and by the time we took off from the start line, we had raised $2,615.70.

We are so proud to be a part of this event and plan to complete the run together every year from now on. This year we will have a bigger and better team of fabulous women running with us to help make a difference. We thank you BCNA for giving us the opportunity to be able to contribute and help women facing breast cancer.
